12-31-08 Happy New Year!
We have saw the Lord Bless so many times this year. We are thankful that the Lord uses us in the way
he does. We have saw numerous folks come to the altar throughout the year. I believe that is what it's
about , people talking to the Lord what a blessing. The Lord has used us 86+ different times and God
opened every door. We look forward to what the Lord has instore for 2009! The year has had it's
heartaches tho with the death Uncle Kenneth Strickland, Judy Strickland (Uncle Raymond Strickland's
wife), Michelle Galyon (Mitch Galyons late wife), Bob Ivey our Pastor for 41 years, Rob Jones, Rev
Buster Lindner, Bill Nelson, Karen Hughes and others. I learned yesterday that Sonny McDonald of
Benton, Tn went home too. I ask that you pray for all these families. Pray for those I may have overlooked
too, I did'nt intend too.(email if I did).
On the Praise side of things God saved our daughter Christina on Nov. 2 after a singing service at
Welcome Valley Baptist Church in Benton, TN. He has blessed us with good health and the means to
keep going for him. He recently gave us Bro. Rick Duncan as Pastor at Pleasant Hill Baptist church. His
first service as pastor saw 1 saved and 9 to join the church. Praise the Lord for answering Prayers. God

9/08/08 Thank God for all his blessings!
We have been real busy lately. It has been a while since our last news update. Just to update everyone
on my dad Benny Walden, he is doing good and is getting stronger he finished his last chemo treatment
back in July. Our Pastor Robery Ivey went home to glory June 28. He had battled cancer for the last 5
yrs. Please remember his wife Nell Ivey and his Girls in your prayers. We receive lots of prayer requests
from the places that we minister in. There are so many that God Knows all about them but we try to
remember time all together when we pray. We have been blessed to see the Lord work in our services. I
ask that you remember our church Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Ten Mile,Tn and the Bill Nelson
Family in prayer . Please pray for Revival! We now have "God Made This Mountain For Me" CD
available.
5/16/08 It's been real busy for us lately but the Lord has really blessed us. We finally managed to
complete our latest CD "God Made This Mountain For Me". Hopefully it will be available in 3 weeks or
less. We enjoy recording but it is a lot of work. I pray that the Lord uses it to bless folks like he has the
others. We don't claim to be anything other than servants of the Lord. He has shown us so much that he
will do when we follow his leadership and WILL. Dad has a 2 week break from his chemo treatments
and after that he has only 6 weeks left. He is doing well and credits God and the prayers of everyone for
his well doing. He has only been weak. Just keep praying for him and the family. I was told this week
that my aunt Judy Strickland from Camden, TN was diagnoised with cancer, please pray for her and my
family in West Tennessee. Please say a special prayer for our pastor Bob and wife Nell Ivey, who is
recovering from his sickness. God still works and so does prayer in all situations in life.
2/19/08 Well we are in the new year and already full of God's blessings. My dad has had eight chemo
treatments and is doing pretty well. He and mom have had colds but are doing better. Continue to have
folks pray for them. This week we learned Rev Buster Lindner pastor of Maple Springs Baptist in Tellico
Plains passed away. Friends were received tonight with his funeral and burial tommorrow at Maple
Springs at 2:00pm. Rev Buster was pastor there for 41 years. He was a big influence to all who new him
and now he finally made it home to the place he longed to be. We also ask that you remember his family
in your prayers. We also ask that you remember the Rob Jones family from our church at Pleasant Hill
Baptist. Rob Jones passed away Monday from complications after he suffered a heart attack. Bowers
Funeral Home in Decatur Tn will recieve friends this Wenesday from 5-9pm with his funeral Thursday at
2 pm at Pleasant Hill Baptist in Ten Mile. We also wish for all to remember our Pastor and his wife Bob
and Nell Ivey in prayer. .

Dad took his first chemo treatment this past Thursday and ask that you remember him in prayer. Our
friends Jerry & Paula Cross also need our continued prayers. On December 14th we sang at Maple
Grove Baptist in Ten Mile. I would like to say a special thanks to the church for the dinner. Thanks to
Pastor Lester Gunn for all that you do for the group God Bless You All.
I would also like to thank all of our Brothers and Sisters in Christ who come to us and share your
wonderful thoughts of Love blessings through our singing. You really don't know what an encouragement
you are to us to keep pressing on for the Lord. When someone comes to you with tear filled eyes you
know God understands every tear drop.
11/15/07 Thanks to all whom have helped my dad and mom through your prayers and gifts of Love.
They really do appreciate all their wonderful friends. It has been a while since I updated the news section
because of just being busy with dad and other things. Dad had a PET scan that showed no more cancer
spread, but had a thyroid biopshy that the Dr isn't sure about. He also had a liter of fluid drained from his
left lung that has "suspious cells" . Continue to remember him in prayer as he makes a lot of tough
decisions. Jerry Cross had his pace maker put in and is under Dr supervision as to what he can and
cannot do. Please remember him in prayer too. Paula Cross's mother, Karen Gates had a operation last
night please remember her also.
Thanks to all the fine folks at Howards Chapel Baptist Church in Vonroe,TN. We had a great time at your
church. Special thanks to Mike & Amy. Keep up the good work at the church. God Bless You All!
9/21/07 Dad was told Wed. that he has Pneumonia in his left lung but he is improving. Lets all call out to God for
him when we pray. He will have to take chemo for the tumor that was removed as a precaution against any more
cancer spread. So far the cancer was only around the tumor. The doctor thinks he might have got it all during the
surgery. Jerry Cross will also see his heart doctor today to schedule his pacemaker surgery. Please pray for him
as well.
9/16/07 Dad was moved from ICU to a room yesterday. Please pray for him. Thanks for all the calls and
prayers.
9/12/07 Benny Walden, father of Darrell, father-in-law of Sandra and grandfather of Justin & Christina has had
an emergency surgery to remove a tumor from his large intestines. The operation was 5 1/2 hrs but was
successful. Dad is recovering in ICU at Sweetwater Hospital. They will send the tumor for testing. Please pray for
him as he recovers. Also remember my mother, brother and sisters, (Joann,Barry, Brenda and Diane and their
children) as dad recovers.
8/24/078Jerry Cross came through his surgery Tuesday for the tumor on his back . He is doing as well to be
expected and the tumor was NON-CANCER. Praise the Lord! We ask that you remember them still on his
recovery and future pace maker surgery.
8/17/07 We ask that everyone remember in prayer our friends Jerry & Paula Cross and children Katie and
Megan in prayer. Jerry & Paula Cross have helped out The Crystal Road Band with equipment.and vehicles
before and during my back surgery. Good Friends are hard to come by like these who go beyond their own self
interests to help someone in need. Jerry and Paula work in and attend our church at Pleasant Hill Baptist in Ten
Mile, TN. Jerry will undergo two operations next week. One on Wed. to remove a tumor from his back and one
on Thur. to install a pacemaker in his heart. Lets all call on the Lord in their behalf so God can get the glory from
it.
8/03/07 Darrell will undergo back surgery Monday 8/06/07 at UT Medical Center to repair a damaged disk in
his lower back. Please pray for him and the staff at UT Hospital.
